Vinegar Tom is a spirit-conjuring hydrosol, designed for convenient use in divinatory spells and rituals, connecting to the spiritual realm (astral travels, shamanic journeys, meditations and visualizations) and speaking to the dead. It combines amaranth, orange and clove in an easy-to-use spray for infusing your space with these intentions. It's perfect for Samhain rituals and autumn magick in particular, when many of us wish to make that connection.

Our hydrosol's namesake is a nod to Elizabeth Clarke's imp of the same name. In 1645 Elisabeth Clarke was accused of witchcraft and subjected to "watching," a practice wherein officials (namely Matthew Hopkins) would stand guard in the accused's home overnight and watch them, waiting to see if the devil's imps would come and feed. Elizabeth addressed this imp, and others, by name.

If desired, pair Vinegar Tom with our best-selling Tar Water Spray. This 4 oz. banishing spray includes vervain, agrimony, rue, mugwort, wormwood, and quartz to banish spiritual entities that are particularly hesitant to leave a space or a person. Our Tar Water Spray is a nod to Tar Water, a medieval remedy one drank to rid himself or herself from powerful spirits or entities. It's also used to break hexes and curses, and sending back ill-will.

As always, be careful when in contact with herbs. While we use a quality source for our herb collection, skin irritation from a particular plant is always a possibility.
