Datura, or Devil's Trumpets, is stated to be one of the few flowers included in the Flying Ointment of lore because of its hallucinatory qualities. These qualities also makes the flower useful  in many sacred ceremonies in different practices, like Shamanism. Likely due to its pretty petals, the flower symbolizes temptation with secrets, or betrayal after the allure. In fitting fashion, the plant is used in magick to break charms and spellls, as well as warding off evil. It does have a darker use, and is used in rituals to encourage insanity in enemies. Datura houses many different types of species; ours is D. innoxia.

Do not ingest this oil. Do not place this oil in any flame to burn. Do not place this oil on the skin. It is highly suggested that this oil be used as a curiosity item.

Datura is incredibly poisonous and is part of the infamous nightshade family, and has been used for recreational enjoyment (including, perhaps, the feeling of flying on a broomstick) because of its hallucinatory abilities. Like many plants with these qualities, and poisons in general, there is a fine line between recreational and fatal doses. Side effects and symptoms of overuse include hallucinations with the inability to differentiate them from reality, increased heart rate, dilated pupils, fever, nausea, headache, increase in anxiety and violent behavior.

This plant is restricted in some countries. Please check whether you can legally buy and own this plant before purchase.
